Wellness
Several Wellness opportunities are available for you today!
Life Strides Fitness Center (Hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
The fitness center includes strength training, cardiovascular training and one-on-one fitness consultation. There is not a set fee associated with participating in the Life Strides Fitness Center. All participants, however, are encouraged to contribute. Fitness Center Staffing is made possible by a CICOA Aging and In Home Solutions Grant (www.cicoa.org).
Weight Management
The weight management group is for persons who are interested in losing or maintaining their weight through healthy lifestyles, proper eating habits, and exercise.
Walking Group
Join the walking group as they explore the indoor and outdoor sights around the city while gaining the many benefits of walking.
Tai Chi Class
Considered a moving form of yoga, this activity involves learning slow, soft and graceful movements called “forms.”
Stretch Class
This class is a great way to increase muscle tone, flexibility, and range of motion.
Low Impact Exercise Group
This activity is set to music and includes an aerobic segment to strengthen the heart, bone density, tone muscles, and improve balance and flexibility.
Health Screenings
Various health screenings and tests are scheduled throughout the year. A majority of the screenings and tests are offered at no cost to participants. Some examples include: Blood Pressure, Bone Density, Cancer, Cholesterol, Circulation, Driver Safety class, Flu Shots, Foot Massage, Glucose, Hearing, Oral Cancer, Pharmacy Consultations, and Vision.
